Park Hill Nursery Ltd - About Us

Park Hill Nursery Ltd has been privately owned by Mrs Heidi Burton since April 1998. During this time Heidi has made huge improvements to offer more flexible and affordable childcare to the local community. The nursery previously opened term time only from 9-4 and also only took children aged 2-5 years. In April 2000 Heidi made the decision to open 51 weeks a year, offering full day care to all children aged 2-5 years and also extend the hours to 8 till 5. Toy blocks

During 2005, due to the expansion of Youth work, Heidi was informed that the nursery needed to find alternative accommodation. This unfortunately was not an easy task. Heidi spent many months exploring various opportunities from business parks to Scout huts! In September 2005 she was approached by Mr Gary Chown, headmaster of a local Primary School. After numerous discussions Park Hill were given the art room huts to renovate. During the rest of 2005 Heidi and her Dad worked around the clock to make the necessary improvements needed to make the building suitable for pre-school children.

Toy train In January 2006 Park Hill Nursery moved to their new premises on the grounds of Wilcombe Primary School. The move was a great opportunity for bigger expansion allowing Heidi to expand her age range to offer childcare for children aged 0 -12 years and opening times to extend to 6. Funding from Sure Start helped to develop the out of school club.

Heidi wanted the good reputation of the nursery to still be recognised within the town so she decided to keep the nursery’s current name.

The continual success of the nursery has been due to hard work and dedication from all staff, current and present. Heidi is a very pro-active manager, she is highly committed and is constantly reviewing current practices to improve her nursery further.
