Park Hill Parent Partnership

We believe that children benefit most when parents and staff work together in partnership to ensure quality care and learning. We welcome parents as partners and this partnership needs to be built on trust and understanding. It is important to us that we are able to support parents in an open and sensitive manner. We are continually trying to improve our communications methods and after consulting with staff and parents in June 2009 we decided to form ‘Park Hill Parent Partnership’.

We decided to ask two parents from each play room to act as representatives. These parents will form the core of the partnership and it is hoped that all parents will be able to speak to these representatives prior to each termly meeting to suggest ideas for forthcoming agendas.

The purpose, aims and objectives of these meeting are:

  • To work together in partnership to ensure quality care and learning
  • To welcome parents as partners
  • To build relationships on trust and understanding
  • To support our parents in an open and sensitive manner
  • To create opportunities for parents to talk to other adults in a secure and supportive environment
  • To inform parents about nursery activities and forthcoming events
  • To provide opportunities for parents to contribute their own skills, knowledge and interests to the activities of the nursery
  • To share views and opinions

There is a display section in the lobby for the ‘Park Hill Parent Partnership’ and on this board we have displayed photographs of our representatives so that all parents are aware of who to talk to. On this board we are also able to display notices, agendas and forthcoming events.
